To lock in setting tools, use the following procedure:

A) Begin with setting pieces that are a correct pair. CAUTION: AN INCORRECT PAIR WILL DAMAGE SETTING TOOLS! See Tool Replacement instructions (below).
B) Insert bottom eyelet setting tool first, (6EB), pushing it as far as allowable into bottom chamber, (See Diagram #3). Insert and tighten thumb screw A, (the longer of the two thumb screws). Repeat procedure for the top eyelet setting tool, (6ET), using thumb screw B, (the shorter of the two).

Operating the :

•   Load eyelet or rivet with the flanged side, (wide area), down on bottom setting tool. (See Diagram #4).
•   Insert pre punched material, unless you are using the tool as only a punch,
(with punch setting tools).
•   Make sure your hand and fingers are clearly out of the path of the top and bottom setting tool compression area.
•   Pull down on the handle until maximum compression occurs, generally using 10 to 40 lbs of pressure depending on the size and material of your eyelet or rivet.
Diagram #4
•   Insert screw C with standard nut and washer D & E as shown in Diagram #5. Adjust screw by hand to your desired level and lock down by tightening the nut. Adjusting this screw will allow you to control your crimping of the eyelet or rivet shaft, creating space for arrows, buttons, washers or thick material.

Tool Replacement:

•   Always make sure the Top setting tool code (printed on the side of the setting tool), ends with a "T" and the Bottom setting tool ends with a "B". See Setting Tool Parts chart for entire list (below).
•   For decorative eyelets, (shapes other than round), use your decorative bottom setting tool with the top setting tool that is designed for standard eyelets of the same size. Example: use 6ET with 6DB.
